FULL RENOVATION OF A FLAT IN SANTA COLOMA

Full renovation of a flat in the Santa Coloma neighborhood, it is an old house with low original ceilings and little natural light.

To adapt the house to the tenants' requirements, we adopt a very clear and simple strategy. It is committed to a radical emptying of the space, in order to show its entire volume and the subsequent insertion of a module that will articulate the house.

Through this single central and transversal piece, it is possible to reorganize the program between kitchen / dining room / living room. At the same time, it is possible to separate these spaces from the hall and bedrooms, generating a cross interaction between both areas and a greater entry of natural light.

Strategically located, this block not only articulates all the rooms of the house, but also provides a unique aesthetic logic: all the prominence is given to the contrast between natural materials, such as the structure of solid pine slats that blend with the wooden floor, and the white of walls and ceiling.

The new module solves the project through the coexistence between old / new and white / color. To strengthen the concept of homogenization and communication between spaces, a main color is applied, green, which will give contrast and depth as well as small accents of color throughout the house.
